About the Author

Joshua Rey is the Vicar of Roehampton, one of the most interesting, varied, economically deprived, challenging and hopeful parishes in South West London. He lives in the Vicarage opposite Holy Trinity Church with his wife Annie and their son Paddy.

He was formerly Chaplain to the Bishop of Southwark. Before ordination he worked variously in the City of London as a merchant banker, in Afghanistan, Albania and a few other places as an aid worker, and in Whitehall developing unemployment policy.

Besides A Season of Silence he is the author (with Jolyon Mitchell) of War and Religion in the OUP Very Short Introduction series, and of Janet and Arthur, a novel about Jane Austen and the mystery that runs under the surface of her books.

You can find him in Holy Trinity church for morning and evening prayer 8.30am and 5.30pm every day except Saturday.  At morning prayer there will be ten minutes of silence.
